Defying The Odds: Lessons Learned while Building Diverse SE & SE Leadership Teams

• Only 26% of executive positions are held by women, and only 5% are women of color. (McKinsey & Company, 2023)
• On the current trajectory, it will take about 95 years for Black employees to reach talent parity (or 12 percent representation) across all levels in the private sector (McKinsey & Company, 2021)

If we want to change these statistics, we need to talk openly, transparently and collaboratively about what’s needed.  It’s not enough to check the box on DEI&B.  We have to enhance theory and good intentions with concrete actions. Change will require sharing ideas and best practices WHILE we hold each other accountable on results.  Join Sarah Lustenberger and Alfonso Franklin as they lead a discussion based on challenges they’ve seen, what they’ve done well, where they’ve fallen short and what they’ve learned along the way.  The session will be interactive, encouraging participation and information sharing throughout.  Every attendee will walk away with 2 to 3 specific actions they can take to make a difference in their company’s DEI&B efforts.
